A few of my favorite things about working in public education:
1. The sound of kids playing on the playground.
2. Even through the years of growing pains, "going to school" with someone creates a shared sense of belonging and community.
3. Watching the preschool and kindergarteners grow from the first day of school and witnessing how they make friends, learn social norms and begin the journey of navigating life.
4. Watching how middle school kids' lives change between every class period.
5. Watching teachers invest time, effort, and even their own money on students because they care and want these kids to have every advantage in life.
6. Watching a kid feel a sense of accomplishment after conquering something that has been a challenge for him/her!
7. Watching graduates on graduation night!
Thank you for the privilege of educating your kids. Your trust is not taken for granted.
